March 2026 : Training and Technical Assistance in New Caledonia

A team of three specialists from FOST travelled to New Caledonia for a three-week assignment. At the 3 sites visited (Futuna, Wallis and Nouméa) the technical assistance involved:

• Carrying out equipment checks and tests, and providing user training on its deployment,
• Commissioning new equipment received on site, dispatched with support from FOST,
• Delivering spill response training (IMO Level 1) as well as a fire-fighting module,
• Organising medium-scale exercises, involving stakeholders and local authorities,
• Providing specialised training for drivers transporting dangerous goods.

The « fire-fighting» module, introduced in 2026, helped to raise awareness among personnel of additional concepts to those covered during the spill response training.

At the Subsidiary's request, FOST visited the Subsidiary's largest client to run a spill response training course.
